The financial year got off to a great start for FOI and there has been a great deal produced within the various assignments. The demand for FOI's expertise from its main customers, the Swedish Armed Forces and FMV, the Swedish Defence Material Administration, continues to be very high. Orders from other customers have been significant and this is also proof that FOI's expertise is needed and of value to society at large.

FOI has implemented a wide-scale reorganization during the last few years in order to adapt the organization to the decreased volume of orders from the Armed Forces. The results for the first half of the year show a result improvement of almost SEK 12 million compared to the same period in 2008. These positive results are proof that FOI's adaptation measures have been successful, in accordance with the guidelines that were set forth by the Government.
