Welcome to the website of the FOI Stockholm Informatics Group. We are part of the Division of Information Systems within the Swedish Defence Research Agency.

We do research on high-level information fusion, management of uncertainty, modelling and simulation, and distributed systems. Our research interests include the theoretical and applied aspects of soft computing, belief functions, neural networks, particle filtering, swarm intelligence/complex systems, social network analysis, data mining, data farming, information management, mixed-initiative interaction, modelling and simulation, and military applications of operational plan simulation and analysis, and high-level information fusion and artificial intelligence, especially management of uncertainty applications for situation and threat assessment and its use in decision support systems. Our application focus is on effects-based planning, testing operational plans and information fusion and information management methods for intelligence information processing and handling in network-centric operations. The group was founded on 1 July 1986.
