Decision Support Systems

Welcome to the website of the Department of Decision Support Systems. We are part of the Division of Information and Aeronautical Systems within the Swedish Defence Research Agency.

We do research on high-level information fusion, management of uncertainty and modelling and simulation. Our research interests include the theoretical and applied aspects of soft computing, belief functions, Dempster-Shafer theory, neural networks, particle filtering, swarm intelligence/complex systems, social network analysis, data mining, data farming, information management, mixed-initiative interaction, modelling and simulation, embedded simulation systems, VV&A, and military applications of operational plan simulation and analysis, high-level information fusion and artificial intelligence, especially management of uncertainty applications for situation and threat assessment and its use in decision support systems. Our application focus is on effects-based planning, testing operational plans, information fusion and information management methods for intelligence information processing and handling in network-centric operations. In 2004 we organized the Seventh International Conference on Information Fusion (FUSION 2004). The group was founded on 1 July 1986.
