Seminar - Operating in Conflict and Disaster Areas.
A joint seminar addressing operations in disaster and conflict areas will be held on the challenge; “How to protect the environment in a host nation from impact of necessary activities, and how to secure the long term health of field personnel after sometimes extreme events?”. The seminar presents corporate, civilian and military experiences, with lessons learned from i.e. Sudan, Asia, Afghanistan, DR Congo, Liberia and the Aceh province.
FOI in cooperation with the Folke Bernadotte Academy, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and the Swedish Rescue Services Agency invite you to a seminar open for civilian, military, governmental and NGO actors. We invite potential participants to respond with ideas for presentation in the form of short abstracts covering the areas of the seminar. The two main topics of the seminar are Environmental Protection and Health Protection. Proposals should be submitted no later than February 5, 2007. Accepted abstracts will be presented at the seminar.
