Matlab Tools

The Edge code is constructed using a system called Flexible Format Architecture or FFA format. This versatile data format is also used for the FOI/FFA-developed codes Euranus (Multiblock CFD solver) and Safir (Infrared visibilty analysis system). FFA format is described in the Edge Manual and related documentation.

The FFA Matlab Toolbox is set of Matlab functions for handling FFA format datasets. The toolbox allows users to process data and to write programs using FFA format within the powerful Matlab environment, typically for special pre- and post- processing tasks. Developers can also use the toolbox for debugging and for protoyping new functions using Matlab-based code.

A collection of Matlab functions based on the FFA Matlab Toolbox is now supplied with the main Edge package. It is intended that this set of functions will be extended to form an "Edge Lab" toolbox. Edge users are invited to contribute their own Matlab functions for distribution via this website.
