New Features in Edge 3.3
A brief summary of the most important of the new developments in Edge, version 3.3, is given below.
Adjoint Solver
Tools to perform shape optimization simulations have been added. Parametrized surfaces can be optimized with respect to, for example drag, still maintaning constant lift. The optimization procedure is solved by computing the adjoint Euler equations and from there collect a gradient in design space. The procedure is repeated until satisfactory convergence has been reached.
Mesh Deform Utilities
More utility programs to deak with mesh deformations have been added.
Increased Performance
A speedup of about 10-20% has been achieved by further optimization of the code.
