FOI is among the world leaders in sensor technology such as radar, laser and optical systems with advanced image and signal processing. We undertake security policy studies and analyses in the fields of defence and security. FOI assesses different type of threats and develops systems, including command and control, for crisis management. We also develop systems for the handling of, and protection against, hazardous substances and contribute to more secure IT systems, to mention just a few examples.
