In addition to chemical weapons FOI also works with a multitude of other issues and substances, including analysis of everything from industrial chemicals to toxic degradation products.

FOI helps government authorities with chemical examinations, component analyses and forensic analysis. The work also includes the establishment of structural details or modifications in proteins and accomplishing trace analyses in biologic liquids.
