Analytical expertise with regard to chemical/biological issues

FOI classifies known and unknown chemicals in chemical weapons. This means that FOI’s laboratories have equipment and resources for the handling of everything from hazardous industrial chemicals to toxicologically relevant metabolites.

For this reason FOI can today help enterprises with chemical examinations and expert knowledge and government authorities with forensic analysis.

Some examples of the work carried out by FOI’s analytical experts are structure-based studies of substances for the development of new medicines and studies of molecule mechanisms.
