Workshop Venue-Air Defence Regiment, LV 6
The Swedish Armed Forces have kindly lent their facilities at the Air Defence Regiment, LV6, in Halmstad for the conference. The regiment trains national soldiers and officers in areas such as intelligence gathering from radar surveillance, air defence command and control, logistics and the operational use of anti-aircraft missile systems.
The city of Halmstad
The European Survivability Workshop 2012 is held in Halmstad, on the south-west coast of Sweden. Formerly a Danish settlement, Halmstad got its first city rights in 1307, and became Swedish in 1645. Since then, the city has been developing strongly in several different areas.
Summer and Halmstad are intimately related. A ribbon of salty beaches from the eastern parts of the city to Tylösand, has made Halmstad to all of Sweden’s bath tub. Add to that the music flowing from the city centre, from the Brottet, from Tylösand and from all the local bars and clubs.
Halmstad has a wide range of cultural events and there is always something interesting to do. Museums and all kinds of exhibitions as well as the historic city centre itself.
The climate in Halmstad in June is usually pleasant, with temperatures ranging between 20 and 25 C. However, it might be much warmer, or cool and rainy. Evenings are very light, with sunset after 10 p.m.
