Mats works in underwater research and his paper deals with method development for the design of complex integrated marine systems such as submarines.
The method put forward by Mats is intended for use early in the design process in order to ensure that the developed product meets the needs and requirements of the customer while at the same time achieving a balanced and cost-effective result.
am extremely pleased, and at the same time surprised, to have received this prize. A great many papers are submitted and this was the first time that I have submitted anything connected with my doctoral thesis, says Mats.
Mats will receive his prize at the Annual Meeting of the RINA in London on 17 April. The RINA is one of the world’s oldest marine institutions and each year the Institution arranges a number of international seminars, conferences and workshops in the field of naval architecture. It was to one of these conferences that Mats submitted his paper.
