EU-SENSE
EU-SENSE - European Sensor System for CBRN Applications is a 3-year project reaching from May 2018 to April 2021 funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 787031.
The purpose with EU-SENSE is to develop a novel network of sensors for CBRNe applications through the exploitation of chemical detector technologies. This will lead to improved possibilities to detect and classify toxic chemical agents. In addition, machine learning algorithms will be used to reduce the impact of environmental noise and to further improve the detection possibilities and the robustness of the system. When an anomaly is detected in the environmental noise, inverse dispersion modelling is used for source characterization, which means that the source position and the source strength are estimated. Based on these estimations a dispersion model is run to calculate the risk area. The overall purpose is to provide improved situational awareness and crisis management for first responders.
