Abstract
This report summarises briefly the research at FOA during 2000 in the area of Command and Control including Information Technology. The aim and the goal of the area is described as well as the national and the international development. The activities and the results are shown by projects. Methods of fusing and processing information data have been demonstrated. New methods of assessing the interaction between information systems and humans, have been developed. A model, that is used in the evolution process of tactical C2 systems, has been refined. Part has been taken in the process of elaborating the Armed Forces main documents on C2 systems. The need of collaboration between civilian and military authorities have been surveyed. Within the IT area, the knowledge about automatic authentication problems has been deepened. A new Virus Laboratory has been established. Finally, in collaboration with DERA in UK, methods of tracking submarines have been successfully developed.
