Abstract
Environmental education has been an important task during past year. Key groups have been given specific courses and common courses for all personal have been given at the divisions in Grindsjön, Ursvik and Linköping. The merging of FOA and FFA has somewhat affected the environmental work. Due to the fact that FOA has different landlords it has been difficult to obtain comparable numbers on electricity, heat and water. The same problem is valid for travel and transports due to the use of different travel agencies. Environmental matters have been added as a specific task in the project plans for the year 2000. The Defence Department, the Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and the National Fortifications Administration have contracted FOA for environmental research. FOA has also performed environmental research for the civil sector. Environmental contracts are signed with all major landlords and contractors. Videostudios are installed at all places where FOA is situated and the use of video meetings has increased from 150 to 500 hours compared with 1999. Waste stations are now in place all over FOA. The outdoor environment has been cleared in Ursvik and Grindsjön. In Grindsjön an inventory of mercury has also been performed. The environmental management system of FOA has been reviewed by the internal auditor. In conclusion he found no essential negative remarks to report.
