At the request of the Swedish Rescue Services Agency, FOI has made an evaluation of the use fo the Environmental Sensitivity Map of Umeå. The purpose of the investigation was to see if and to what extent the map has been used by the participants concerned. Comments and suggestions on changes or improvements have been collected through a questionnaire. In general the map is considered to be a sueful tool in the daily work by the participants. Howver, it has not been accessible in digital form due to incompatibility problems. During the evaluation period the map has been converted to a more available format (MapInfo) and it has also been made accessible on the Intranet of Umeå municipality. Comments that have emerged are for instance that the classification of the sensitive areas should be updated. New data have also been identified since the map was created.
