The Swedish Defence Research Agency, the Division of NBC Defence, has accomplished an environmental test of an industrial estate at FOI Ursvik. The purpose of the investigation was to classify the industrial estate before the area is passed on to new owners. The method of investigation is in accordance with the MIFO model Phase 2 developed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The result shows that the industrial estate does not require any decontamination of the soil. Should the estate be transformed in the future into a residential area the refuse dump and the soil around the transformers must be cleaned up.
