In this report we argue for wether the logistcs and maintance, within the Swedish Armed Forces, should produced by the private- or public sector. Several market characteristics imply a continued public production. However, a private production Will perhaps result in cost savings and greater effetiveness. Therefore, there is a need for some economic criteria which indicate ~, and to what degree, the public should engage in tis production. Our conclusion is that there are gains to be made by experimenting between public- and private production, in search for efficiency even for the Armed Forces.
