Abstract
Digital surveys have nowadays become an alternative to traditional paperbased surveys. This report describes the advantages and disadvantages with digital surveys compared to paperbased surveys. Included in the report is also a suggestion about how to construct and distribute digital surveys together with a user manual for modifying the digital surveys developed for FOI. The digital surveys where created in a database with Access2000 as examples of digital surveys where the answers from the surveys are exported to a database. Digital surveys have big advantages compared to paperbased surveys, for example the possibility to create controls that all questions have been answered correctly and the quick distribution. Among the disadvantages is the fact that digital surveys can demand technical facilities that paperbased surveys are not in need of. The suggestion for constructing digital surveys includes for example the need of developing user manuals to the surveys, the need of being aware of user interface guidelines and create controls when developing the surveys together with the need of preparing the analyse of answers from the surveys beforehand. The suggestion for distributing a survey is using a network which is quick and convenient.
