Abstract

When a laser beam propagates through the atmosphere it will be influenced by the atmospheric condition. Some of the effects that will occur is absorption, scattering and turbulence, which all are of vital importance when designing laser warner systems. There is a need for lot of measurement under different weather conditions and different space of time to verify models of turbulence and scattering. To fulfill this need, measurements over sea-surface at Berga naval base have been realized. This report accounts for the result of these measurements and compares with similar measurements over ground. The theory in this area is extensive and will not be treated in this report.
