GERM calculates the efficiency of an active mono-static sonar system. The program is based on the sonar equation, where the echo level (EL), the reverberation masking level (RML) and the noise masking level (NML) are derived as functions of the distance from the sonar. The input parameters are given data of the sonar system, the environment and the transmission loss (TL).
