Abstract

How can science and technology make a difference when it comes to confidence building, arms control and non-military threats to our societies? The minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Anna Lindh, invited senior level indiviuals from security policy and research institutions in Europe, Canada, Russia and the United States to address this issue during a Workshop on Science and Technology in Support of European Security that was held from 24-26 April 2002 in Stockholm. This publication is the result of the Workshop, and includes the papers presented as well as a Rapporteur´s Report of the proceedings. This Workshop is an important step in the process of applying science and technology to enhance security in our society.
