The report describes the work performed in the network group within the FoRMA- project during 2002. The first part of the report discusses the "network idea" and different aspects of a network centric warfare, such as doctrine, methodology, organisation, personnel and technology. Different hypotheses for investments in networks are presented together with a background analysis. A comprehensive description of methods for assessing networks structures is also given. In the end of the report different technology areas are described generally, both from the research trends that are available and from the system perspective that now exist in the current processes.
