Abstract

The work in the project Intelligent Munition Systems has been focused on recognition methods during the terminal phase of the homing, to estimate the identity of the target as well as its position and orientation. The intention is to enable an estimate of the optimal aim-point with the highest possible precision during the whole homing, in order not to have to disturb the final part of the terminal phase with swift platform maneuvres, which may deteriorate the hit probability. This will enable precision combat with a high kill probability as well as a graded weapons-effect to minimize third-party damage, and in certain situations also to minimize injuries on personnel.
