Wargaming for defence structure evaluation is a part of the Perspective Planning Process (i.e. the long range planning of the SwAF). Since in Sweden wargaming seldom has been used during the last 10 years period, wargaming experience, methods and data have faded away. This report addresses these problems. The report is mainly written for officers and OA-personnel involved in Perspective Planning. The study is based on personal experience from wargaming, more or less successful, over a long period of time, mainly the 1980´s. Observations from 2003 is also an important part. The report describes the whole process from problem formulation to the implementation of the results in a new defence structure.
