Abstract

Interaction between shaped charge jet fragments and debris has been studied with simulations in AUTODYN. Simulations with Lagrange-formulations have shown that severe collisions between the shaped charged fragments and debris occurs. This will decrease the penetration when the shaped charged jet starts to fragment at long stand off distances. This phenomena is well known in practice but the reason is somewhat unclear. However, it can be questionable if the simulations give a correct description of the reality.
