Abstract

Within the project Technical Threat System Assessment, simulation models that describe existing military threat system, are developed. For this purpose, the simulation language ACSL is being used. In the models of IR-missiles, target and flares are often represented as point sources, and obscuration effects are ignored. This report describes one method to determine whether flares are hidden behind an aircraft body. The method uses three different levels of resolution of the obscuring target, to reduce the calculation lime. An ACSL module for the method has been implemented, and is described in the report.
