Abstract
The society today looks for an increase in reuse of materials. The purpose of this reuse is mainly environmental. The Swedish Defence is in the lead, when concerning environmental issue within the defence community. This project is trying to increase the defence environmental considerations. Today the Swedish Defence reuse large portions of all the energetic materials that are marked for destruction. This project looks at the possibility to maintain this amount of reuse even in the future. The project has examined the possibility to reuse energetic materials from explosives compositions that are developed today. By chosing a solvent depending of the composition, it has been shown that it is possible to reuse energetic materials from explosive composition, with crosslinked polymers, thus meaning explosives that are developed today. Analysis with HPLC-MS and DSC show that the products are pure, but several other analyses are needed to fulfill any military specifications. The report shows that it is possible to reuse different compositions that are under development, no efforts to optimise the process has been made, thus this report only show the reuse possibility.
