Abstract

This report summarizes flight measurements performed with the LORA system in UHF mode, which took place over Visingsö and Kvarn during the spring of 2004. The LORA system is an airborne synthetic aperture radar employing the frequencies 20-90 MHz and 230-800 MHz. The purpose of the measurements was to verify the system as a whole, i.e, to verify that all components, in different configurations, could cooperate according to specification. In particular, it was of interest to test the UHF antennas (230-800 MHz) and certain switches for transmitter and receiver elements. The measurements show that the hardware has functioned in the choosen configurations. However, some unwanted transient fenomena between the receiver switch and the receiver have been noticed. These fenomena have been identified and are being attented to. The performance of the system in terms of resolution and signal to noise ratio has not been evaluated in this report.
