Abstract

Training is imperative for the Swedish Armed Forces and increasingly important when international operations in temporarily composed taskforces are becoming central. New threats and objectives increase the need for methods and techniques to improve abilities in the units that will form the future Swedish Armed Forces. New temporary organizational structures and a higher degree of dynamism in potential scenarios also increase the demands on the units. Modeling and simulation will become more important to support future training for these situations. The technological evolution within IT and M&S implies new means of supporting training. These issues have been in focus in this report describing our research in 2004 in the project M&S supporting training in NCW. This report gives a brief overview of our research activities and it includes references to other scientific publications within the project for more thorough explanations on results and conclusions.
