Abstract

Sensor management for redundant inertial measurement units is important for the successful application of redundancy in inertial navigation systems. Redundancy can be used to increase the accuracy of the estimation processes necessary to compute a navigation solution, as well as detection of sensor errors. This report presents one algorithm for detection and isolation of one or more faulty sensors in a multiply redundant sensor configuration.
