Abstract

This study was conducted within the project Technical Threat Systems Assessment (THSV). The purpose of this study is to make an investigation about the utilisation of optimisation based methods for sensitivity assessment in aircraft-missile models. Launch diagrams have also been utilised for two types of sensitivity analysis namely Monte Carlo and a local method. Both methods investigate the influence on the missile range when parametric uncertainties are present. Derivative based optimisation algorithms have been developed and tested using an aircraft missile model. We have shown that derivative based optimisation methods are promising to find extremum values fast in sensitivity analysis studies. In this study a simplified model of a 3-dimensional Surface to Air Missile against an aerial target is used.
