Abstract

The study describes the Swedish national decision making processes ahead of sending military support to international operations. The purpose has been twofold. Firstly to find out and describe how the decision making process looks like in reality. Secondly to identify which areas the Swedish decision making processes that are problematic or possibly time critical, as seen by interviewed officials. From the results there has been a couple of recommendations derived, which could work as input for further work on improving the national decision making processes.
