Sweden is acting as framework nation for a EU Battle Group - Nordic Battle Group (NBG). The other countries contributing troops to this battle group are Finland, Norway and Estonia. NBG are to be ready for deployment starting January 1.2008. As part of the development of NBG, a workshop was conducted during the spring of 2006, aiming to create input for deepened discussions on specific functions, operative centres of gravity, and more. This report discusses the method (gaming) employed for the workshop, as well as the scenarios that were used as a basis for the workshop. Among the conclusions are that, given gaming as the chosen method, the workshop was more or less conducted in as good a way as possible. However, for the given questions, gaming might not have been the best method. Other methods likely would have produced even better results.
