Abstract
The trend for implementation of electronic warfare (EW) systems is that the digital domain grows at the expense of the analog. The digital domain is approaching the antenna, both for the receiver and transmitter modules. Because of the high data rates the systems become challenging to realize. To supply the needed signal processing power, mainly FPGA technology is used. At FOI we have long experience of this technology and its application to EW systems, e g in the project Flexible EW components. This report is aimed at shedding some light over what this development trend means in terms of modularization, simulation and realization of EW systems and couple this with the deliverance module concept used by FMV.
