Abstract

This document describes the work of the project Future Electronic Warfare Duel Simulation during 2006-2008. The project uses and improves the multispectral framework EWSim (Electronic Warfare Simulation interface model) for distributed electronic warfare simulations. The framework consists of three parts, one for scenario planning and configuration, where models are configured and where some range calculations can be made, one for dynamic duels, and finally one assessment module where the duels can be replayed and logged data analyzed. EWSim has models of platforms, countermeasures, warners, sensors and missiles with target trackers and motion models. During a simulation, the planning tool EWPlan together with the staff-tool will be helpful to see how the situational awareness based on collected data can be combined with a planning tool for deployment of jamming and signal-intelligence units. To simplify distribution of the software to less experienced users, a possibility to run a simulation without using HLA has been developed. The code in both EWSim and EWPlan are either developed in-house or open source. Therefore there are no license costs for distribution within the Swedish defense.
