Abstract

The Finite Element explicit dynamic solver LS-DYNA-3D and its impact analysis procedure is applied to simulate the influence on the Volvo-Aero Turbo-Fun Engine attachment from the fun blade-out event (FBO). Different non linear material models are used to simulate and predict damage and stress levels in the engine attachment, Lug.
