Abstract
Sweden participated in a project within the NATO research and technology organization with the aim of providing knowledge about camouflage in hot and humid environment, typically jungle. The project contained literature search, the acquisition of measuring instruments, measurement methodology development, development of measurement plan together with the other participants, selection of equipment for testing, computer simulations of humans in different environments and, finally, field trials in Australia in April 2011. Unfortunately, the last part could not be implemented due to circumstances outside our control (tropical cyclone destroyed the test site). Despite the lack of measurement results, the project gave a better understanding of the environmental type, enhanced network of contacts and experience of measuring campaign planning in international cooperation. The Armed Forces and FMV have benefitted from taking part in the planning of the tests, an enhanced network and, an understanding of future soldier signature equipment demands.
