A tool has been defined to facilitate the use of AVAL (Assessment of Vulnerability And Lethality) in the early design phases of surface ships. This tool requires an initial geometry to be read and will the assign data too rooms based upon a main function defined by the user, including the number of crew members. An AVAL target description will be created automatically, including the fault tree. The report describes the tool, how it should be used and how it works as well as giving suggestions of improvements.
