Abstract

This report describes project activities during 2013. Two evaluations of the 2nd Brigade HQ were completed. Brigade Staff Exercise 2013 spring was conducted partially with the HQ located in both LTC and in tents and containers. During Brigade Staff Exercise 2013 fall the HQ was located in the field. The CTEF-instrument together with dynamic assessments, and questions about agile ability were used. The outcome from CTEF resulted in a number of activities for development of the HQ. These activities were then evaluated during the fall exercise. The project has participated in several NATO research activities. NATO STO HFM -211 has focused on developing an approach for assessing field trials in an easy to use manner. SAS-085 has focused on how military organisations can develop and evaluate agile ability. At the CAX Forum 2013 the project presented the procedural approach and the goal of evaluating 2nd Brigade HQ. Agile ability was broken down and studied in the form of staff members' understanding of the concept and sub-categories of the concept. In addition to the valuation of the 2nd Brigade HQ an experiment was conducted a method experiments for studying shared understanding in teams.
