The present work describes a method for estimating the induced magnetic anomaly signature of a submarine by using analytic formulas for simple elementary bodies. The effect of frames within the pressure hull is treated as an equivalent increase in hull plating thickness. Magnetic components inside the pressure hull are treated with consideration to the shielding effect of the enclosing pressure hull. The model is part of Submarine Analysis (SubAn); An application toolbox supporting analysis and design activities in the early phases of a submarine design project.
