Abstract
This report gives an introduction to the field of integrated survivability area. Integrated survivability deals with survivability on a high system level for system of systems. In the low range of systems of systems one can find vehicles or other basic platforms, and in the upper range fortifications such as an airbase, a camp, but also large missions. The survivability of a system must be considered during all phases of procurement, from formulation of requirements, during analysis of alternatives, through testing of fulfilment of the requirements in the systems specification, as well as during operational testing and evaluation and finally also during real use. There are a couple of methods and tools for evaluation of the complex survivability subject. None of these have been tested in this initial literature survey, but it would be useful to carry out an integrated survivability assessment for an existing platform to try out both methods and tools. This report is a deliverable in the R&T project "Värdering vapen och skydd, verkan, sårbarhet och risk" (Evaluation of weapons and protection, weapons effect, vulnerability and risk), but covers a far wider scope than what this project normally deals with. As a result improved systems knowledge is achieved and an understanding for the need of cooperation with other competences for the assessment of survivability at high system levels is obtained.
