Abstract

Activities performed in the project Physical Protection during 2016-2018 are described in this report. The project consists of various sub-activities with a coherent focus on personal protection against mainly chemicals. The sub-activities are focused on threats from a protective equipment perspective, as well as building a basic knowledge of respiratory protection, primary in the areas filtration and adsorption, which includes taking advantage of previous project experiences, market surveys and trends in the field of respiratory protection and the filtering area and also experiences from NATO's physical CBRN protection group, as well as test and evaluation knowledge. This has altogether been used as a basis for development of the research part of the project, where new adsorbents and, in particular, metal-organic frameworks (MOF) have been studied and initial method development and experiments have been carried out.
