Abstract

Fortifikationsverket has a mission from the Swedish Armed Forces to build solar energy plants as part of its environmental work. An important aspect when deploying solar energy plants is controlling the impact they have on sensitive radio receivers near these plants. When designing and making requirements for the plant in Skövde EMC was considered in order to reduce its potential impact on radio receivers. As such, the plant does not use optimizers on the panels and filters on cables are used. This report presents results from a measurement campaign performed 2019-06-14 aimed at investigating the amount of radiated EMI from the solar energy plant. With the equipment used and in the environment in which it is placed, the results did not show any strong interferences which could be attributed to the plant. Measuring radiated EMI in the field is challenging, however, and for some of the frequency bands the sensitivity of the measurement setup was limited. As such, there might still be weaker interferences that we were unable to measure.
