Abstract
This report is produced in the project "Assessment of lethality, vulnerability and risk" within the Swedish Armed Forces' Research and Technology program. It summarises the work performed during 2020 on the subject of lethality and vulnerability analysis of naval ships. Development of methodologies and tools for vulnerability assessment of naval platforms is currently planned to progress over three years (2020-2022). This report is produced in the first year. Until date, work with creating a naval ship model for AVAL (Assessment of Vulnerability And Lethality) has been initiated and collaboration and cooperation with relevant projects and research areas have started. The report describes the status of the naval ship model, the base data used for the model, the coordination to identify interfaces between the different projects and research areas as well as future work. During the modelling phase, needs for development of new and existing fundamental and phenomenological models are continuously identified. The report includes a short list of selected needs identified until date.
