The fires information system (IS IE) is expected to resolve the identified fires-related command and control (C2) needs when the Swedish Army transitions to the technical C2 system solution LSS MARK. The Swedish Artillery School (ArtSS) has identified a need for support when planning future projects to accommodate for the development of IS IE, and to prepare for the system's planned deployment. ArtSS also has the responsibility to identify and propose a solution that is technically and methodologically interoperable with partner nations' fires support. IS IE is regarded as a vital component in the realization of the technical interoperability. The roadmap is therefore intended to highlight development activities that lead towards an interoperable solution. This report describes the context in which the roadmap has been developed, including its scope and objective, but also limitations and external dependencies. The report is intended to support the reader in how to interpret the plan and its inherent activities. The plan itself has been transferred to ArtSS and is now being maintained at their development unit.
