Abstract

Materials for signature management is a project that investigates the development of new technology and material production that may be of use for military applications, for signature management. One of the tasks is to maintain and build knowledge of sensors and how different materials are perceived. Signatures must be managed in a well thought manner to be able to blend in with various backgrounds. The need for tailor-made solutions where materials are adapted to more than one wavelength region (multispectral adaptation) has increased with the new extended range of sensors and technical advances that are available. This project has during the period 2020 to 2022 highlighted advances in the field of material technology where materials could give an advantage adaptive management in the electromagnetic wavelength region from UV to radar. The work has been conducted through in-house studies of new types of materials, international collaboration, attending conferences and cooperation with universities as well as companies.
