Abstract

The purpose of Förstudie Ledningsplatser (Eng. Pre-study Command Posts) has been to, with the future command post in focus, contribute to strengthened collaboration and coordination between five Research and Development (R&D) areas. The goal of the pre-study has been to develop proposals for tools, processes and methods for strengthened collaboration, to support the identification of knowledge gaps, issues and research questions linked to aspects of the command posts and to find interdependencies between two or more of the R&D areas. Through an exploratory approach and an iterative procedure, where results from the previous activity have informed the next activity, interviews and workshops with the R&D group chairs, research area representatives (FoF), technology area representatives (ToF), study secretaries and research leaders has been conducted. The aim of the activities has primarily been to navigate among the questions and wishes formulated in the project description of the pre-study and that had emerged during the course of the study. The work has resulted in a conceptual image of the command and control site, to be used as a model and starting point in R&D collaboration. Furthermore, three proposals for method development projects and investigation projects have been formulated: samverkansmetod, kartläggning av utvecklingsmiljöer and utforskande spel (eng. collaboration method, mapping development environments and exploratory games). The three proposals are different in nature and will contribute in different ways to collaboration. This report presents the results of a pre-study and should be considered as a basis for decisions on the direction of subsequent work. The report is primarily aimed at executives within the R&D process.
