Abstract
Thisreport contains a review of evaluation methods and tools for simulation and decision support in radar and electro-optical wavelength bands. Basics of signature management such as concealment and camouflage are also covered. Advantages and disadvantages, when using evaluation methods, based on collected data from field measurements or generated synthetic data are discussed in the report. There is no standardized way to evaluate signature management. Several of the tools mentioned in the report could be used for evaluation. Meanwhile, many situations will often require a higher level of detail and complexity compared to what is possible today. New sensors with higher fidelity, threats as autonomous systems and opportunities with AI based evaluations of signature measurements are discussed. Camouflage will undoubtedly play a large role and continue to be part of the tug of war between sensors and avoiding detection.
