Abstract
This report summarizes the work performed within FoT Aeronautical Systems, project Platform Analysis during 2024. The project shall maintain and develop the capability for aeronautical analyses of airborne platforms, as basis for the assessment of capabilities of threat systems, effectors, and model development. Manned and unmanned combat aircraft are especially considered to support study efforts for future Swedish combat aircraft capabilities. The project has studied three conceptual platforms representative of next generation manned fighter aircrafts, with the purpose of strengthening the capability for iterative ways of working in platform conceptual design and performance assessment, as well as building knowledge of the typical design tradeoffs for such platforms. The other project activities regarding modelling and analysis of platform dynamics, signatures and subsystems have generated supporting data for the studied platform concepts. During 2024, the project has participated in the international collaboration projects AVT-389, AVT-390, and AVT-415 within NATO STO. The project has also supervised two master theses validating methods for analyzing small scale propeller aerodynamics.
