Abstract

The Swedish-owned target drones MQM-178 and BQM-167 have had their infrared signature measured in several spectral bands, aspect angles, and flight speeds. The measurement was conducted using infrared cameras and a spectrometer, mounted on a pan-tilt unit that tracked the target drones. The measured data were refined into radiometric information, resulting in radiance images and irradiance curves. The results are credible even though the measurements had some weather-related challenges. The measurements were made to provide validation data to a signature model presented in a supplementary report. The target group for this report are signature modellers, and they who are interested in understanding infrared measurement procedures and radiometric calculations on measured data.
