Abstract

This report gives a fairly detailed but accessible description of the agent behavior models that were implemented as a part of the ground combat model SSSV Mark 2018, developed in the project Simulation-based support for gaming and valuation (SSSV), during the period 2016 - 2018. The behavior models comprise mainly basic behavior for movement and combat in the terrain at the vehicle and platoon levels, but in part also company and battalion levels. Included in the behaviors are handling of hostile encounters and taking actions for survival, depending on the situation and assigned task. In addition, more specific behaviors for assault, outflanking, formation and indirect fire are modelled with various degrees of maturity. The report describes the design choices that were made in the behaviour modelling, as well as what was left out of the modelling. Finally, it lists a number of areas for future development.
